Bristol ACF aims to develop young people (12 - 18 years) physically and mentally, improving self-confidence, teamwork, friendship and leadership. We meet 1900 - 2130 every Thursday and welcome cadets of all abilities and backgrounds, also aiming to develop a sense of community in our cadets.
The ACF provides a wide diversity of fun, exciting and adventurous opportunities and it is a gateway to recognised vocational qualifications from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to BTEC First Diplomas which can help in working and school life.

The junior section of Thornbury RFC. The emphasis of club is for the players to enjoy themselves, have fun and practise their skills.
TOAC supports local 13-24 year olds to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh bronze, silver and gold award schemes. We meet on Thursdays (term-time only) 7.30-8.30pm.
Participants are supported to complete their physical activity and volunteering sections of the award and trained to complete their expeditions.
We run appropriate expeditions for participants several times a year and are a charitable organisation, which receives some support from South Gloucestershire council.

Every week across the UK thousands of young people get involved in Sea Cadet activities. Thornbury has a local Sea Cadet Unit (TS Battleaxe) located behind Castle School 6th Form Centre. Our aim is to give young people (girls and boys aged between 10 and 18) the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun. The club runs two adult teams and a youth section running from U6 to U18 and caters for both male and female teams. The exact date of the formation of a football club in Thornbury is uncertain, but it is known that football was being played in the town in 1896 and that there was a Thornbury Town Club in 1898. The youth section was originally formed in 1990 as a separate club (Thornbury Falcons) and ran in this capacity for many successful years covering teams for boys and girls up to U16. In 2010 the two clubs merged to form a new Thornbury Town FC while retaining adult and junior sections (up to U18).

We are a successful, friendly athletic club with one of the best athletics facilities in the South West at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex. Our coaches can support you to reach your full potential, whether that’s competing to a national standard or just coming along to have some fun and keep fit. New members and beginners are always welcome.
Our Junior Academy is for athletes aged 6 to 16 years and are run on a pay as you go basis at £3 per evening, with no need to pre or block book. Sessions take place on:
• Tuesdays 6-7pm
• Wednesdays 6-7pm and 7-8pm
• Thursdays 6-7pm
• Saturdays 10-11am
Our Club Training Sessions, for athletes aged 13 years (younger athletes by arrangement) through to Masters, and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm – 8:30pm, as well as Saturdays from 11am – 12.30pm. At these session athletes train in event specific groups with a specialist coach. The cost is £2 per session.
For athletes over 35 years old we run friendly Masters Training Sessions on Sunday mornings for every level of ability, where the emphasis is on fun!
