The 1st Chipping Sodbury Scout Group was formed in 1914 and has developed to become one of the largest and most successful in the district. With the assistance of parents and helpers we aim to provide Scouting for two Beaver colonies, two Cub packs, two Scout troops and an Explorer Scout Unit.
All sections are run by adult warranted leaders who voluntarily give up a great deal of their spare time and often their own finances. No leader or helper ever receives any form of payment other than the satisfaction of seeing the results of their endeavours.
1st Thornbury Scouts comprises six sections, two each of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, and provides scouting for boys and girls. There is an associated Explorer unit that meets at Sinclair Hall.
The Group is based at Sinclair Hall, Park Road and currently caters for some 160 boys and girls with an active waiting list. The Group is the largest in Cotswold Edge District and provides action and adventure for all ages between 5 and 14.
Click below for more information.
1st Woodend Scout Group currently comprises just over 100 youngsters aged 6 to 14, in one Beaver Colony, two Cub Packs and two Scout Troops, all meeting in the Scout HQ, Talbots End, Cromhall, behind the Village Hall. Although most of our members live in Cromhall or Charfield, many travel in from the numerous surrounding villages.

Its members are vital to the organisation and in return; members achieve qualifications and confidence and a whole new network of friends.
The youth centre offers young people aged 11-19 a safe space to meet their friends, a variety of activities, including a dedicated music session, information and support, opportunities to volunteer and accreditation.
