Thornbury Arts Festival: Filkins Drift - in Concert

Folk duo Filkin’s Drift made headlines globally when they completed an 870-mile concert tour on foot around the coast of Wales. In a radical approach to sustainable touring, Seth Bye and Chris Roberts walked with their instruments strapped to their backs and played at nearly 50 venues during the 60-day Wales challenge last year.
The pair want the music industry to think more about how they tour and earned wide-spread acclaim for their achievement, with extensive national airtime on BBC Radio 2, 3, 4, 6 Music, and on the BBC World Service.
They were already renowned for their live performances on guitar and fiddle, having en-tertained audiences across the UK with music ranging from delicate Welsh folksongs to traditional English dance tunes, at venues such as Warwick Folk Festival, St George’s Bristol and Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Their Wales tour has now brought them a new group of followers.
