Cotswold Sculptors Exhibition (Sun-Wed until 13th Sept)
Dr Jenner's House, Museum and Garden
11am-4pm
‘But Why Think? Why not Try the Experiment?’
An exhibition inspired by Edward Jenner's life, work and legacy created by local sculptors from the Cotswold Sculptors Association (13th April 2025 to 13th September 2025).
Local members of the Cotswold Sculptors Association are pleased to present their first site specific group exhibition, set in the historic garden of Dr Jenner’s House in Berkeley.
Their inspiration was an exhortation to Edward Jenner by fellow scientist, John Hunter, to stop thinking ‘What If?’, and to just go ahead, experiment and find out. So we invited artists to be inspired by Edward Jenner and his myriad of interests, respond to the historic home and gardens and take up the opportunity and platform to try something different, and most importantly, to experiment!
18 sculptors have risen to the challenge and have been inspired to experiment, explore and push themselves just as Edward Jenner did. We hope that visitors will be inspired to think differently about sculpture as a force for communication and enjoy the experience of learning about the Jenner story through an artist’s lens. Free admission to exhibition with valid Museum ticket.
Meet the Maker week: If you visit in the week between Sunday 27th July to Sunday 3rd August (open Sun-Weds) there’s a good chance you’ll have the opportunity to speak to one or more artists about their inspiration and art practice and watch a demonstration.
